Network flood attacks are not expensive to be executed/ordered, however the protection is very costly due to different factors including the need of larger network capacity and very often it also requires additional separate cloud protection.

In most cases, the purpose is to cause financial damages to the individual or company who owns or rent that server by limiting the public usability. A DDoS attack ( Denial of service attack) is a common cyber-attack which have one and only target, to disrupt the normal operation of a physical server and the application or website that is hosted on it.
